How To: Root the HTC Desire HD

Now rooting and unrooting HTC Desire HD is a child’s play with HTC Quick root tool. So, Here we present the most easiest and safest method to root HTC Desire HD using most famous HTC Quick root tool.

Requirements

• First of all the bootloader must be unlocked before proceeding. Go to HTCDev website and choose your device as “HTC Desire HD”  (You need to create new account if you already don’t have one)
• A PC with Windows OS and JAVA installed (Download Java from here)
• Install HTC Desire HD USB Drivers from here. Its a Important step to connect your device with PC.
• This rooting guide will only work for HTC Desire HD. You can check the device id by going to settings >> About device >> Model Number.
• Backup your Phone data like contacts, SMS etc or here is a guide to back up and Restore SMS.
• Make sure that phone is charged to at least 80%
• Turn ON USB Debugging ( Menu >> Settings >> Developer options >> USB debugging )

Root HTC Desire HD

1. Download HTC Quick Root Tool from here and extract it in desktop
2. Make sure that you disabled “Fastboot” option by going to Settings >> Power
3. Connect HTC Desire HD to your PC using USB cable.
4. Open HTC Quick root.exe file from the extracted folder step 1. (If the tool does not detect the device then check whether the USB drivers are installed properly)
5. You will be presented with window like below. Click on “Root Device“
6. Wait for few minutes to get your device rooted and rebooted.
